Project Coordinator – Culture and Language
Abdella Egahle Borri is a linguist, educator, and cultural advocate who currently serves as Project Coordinator – Culture and Language at the Afar Intellectuals Association (AFIA). He earned his Master’s degree in Socio-Cultural Linguistics (SCL) from Jimma University, where he developed strong expertise in the relationship between language, society, and culture. Over the years, Abdella has worked extensively in the fields of linguistics, education, and public relations, contributing his knowledge and skills to initiatives that strengthen cultural identity and advance educational quality in Ethiopia.
He has played a significant role in the curriculum revision projects led by the Ministry of Education, ensuring that educational materials reflect linguistic and cultural realities. In addition, Abdella has prepared several books for junior and high school levels, which are in the process of publication and expected to make a meaningful contribution to language learning and cultural preservation.
Currently, he is also a Lecturer at Samara University, where he teaches courses in linguistics and communication while mentoring the next generation of scholars. Through his academic and professional work, Abdella continues to promote linguistic diversity, cultural heritage, and inclusive education in the Afar region and beyond.
